What is Local 647?
Local 647 of the International Union of Operating Engineers has united the employees of Cities Service Gas Company in their quest for a better life for over 65 years. Members past and present have shared in the commitment to common goals including better wages, working conditions, opportunity for personal fulfillment and advancement, and security in employment and life itself. Our union has proudly continued to help define the American dream and as Brothers of Local 647 we must do our part to ensure our honored heritage of the American dream lives on.
